Haxton Goes Out In Style!

Zach Haxton ended his high school track career with two state medals both with personal best times at WSU this past weekend. He qualified for the state meet by placing in the top four at the regional meet at Greensburg Kiowa county in both the 800 Meter Run and the 1600 Meter run. Zach also medaled last year in the 1600, but this is the first year he has competed in the 800 at the state level. Running a solid 1600M race, Zach was able to muscle out a 7th place finish in a personal best time of 4:40, which was three seconds faster then his previous best race ever. Having a couple hours to rest he put together the best race of his high school career(also his last high school race) in the 800M. Haxton was within arms length of a state championship for almost the entire race until the last 100M, he would end up in 6th place but less than 1 second away from a bronze medal. His time of 2:01 would be 3 seconds faster then his previous best and only a couple seconds off of the school record. Not a bad way to end a high school career. WAY TO GO ZACH! ARGONIA IS PROUD OF YOU!
