Childcare Center Operated by Argonia USD 359
When will the daycare be open?
The temporary location at the elementary school is now open; we will move to our permanent location at the high school once it is complete. The facility will operate from 6:00 am until 6:00 pm on Monday through Friday, 12 months per year.
Where is it located?
Until the permanent location at the high school is complete, the daycare is housed in two rooms in the south-east corner of the elementary school. Once moved to the high school, the daycare will be on the east side of the building with its own entrance.
Who is operating the childcare center?
The center is governed by the Board of Education of Argonia USD 359; they have hired Aimee Lackey to be the Director.
How will Sunflower Station be staffed?
In addition to the Director several workers will need to be hired in order to meet the state required adult to child ratios; how many staff will depend on enrollment. Some duties, such custodial and food preparation duties, will be performed by current school employees. Anyone interested in employment can send an email to sunflowerstation@argonia359.org
How do I enroll my children?
We are now enrolling for all ages except infants; a room for infants will be available once the center moves to the permanent location. Inquiries can be sent to sunflowerstation@argonia359.org
What is the cost?
Current weekly rates are:
- Before/after school --- $50
- Attending preschool and older --- $100
- 3 and 4 year olds (must be pottytrained) --- $125
- Toddlers and pre-pottytrained --- $150
- Infants --- $200
Current daily drop-in rates (subject to staffing availability) are:
- Before/after school --- $12.50
- Attending preschool and older --- $25
- 3 and 4 year olds (must be pottytrained) --- $31.50
- Toddlers and pre-pottytrained --- $37.50
- Infants --- $50
Are discounts available?
USD 359 employees have a 20% daycare discount and any family with students enrolled in USD 359 receives a 10% discounted daycare rate.
