FutureMaker Mobile Learning Lab Makes a Stop at Argonia High School

On October 23rd Argonia Jr/Sr High hosted teh WSU Tech Mobile Learning Lab.  All students in grades 6th through 12th were given the opportunity to visit the lab and learn about "high-demand technical fields."  Students enjoyed the 3D computers and the virtual lab learning about welding and automotive painting.  Even though some of the students have been to the mobile lab they still look forward to some of the new technology WSU brings each time.

WSU Tech and Goodwill Industries of Kansas, Inc. worked together to develop the FutureMaker Mobile Learning Lab to allow middle/high students alike to have the opportunity to experience the thrill of hands-on, interactive learning in “high-demand technical fields” as identified by the Kansas Department of Commerce.  The goal of this mobile lab is to educate Kansans by bringing these in-demand careers to their doorsteps through the use of technology.  In this mobile lab students experience actual and virtual tools that are used in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) careers identified as high-demand.  This exploration of technical careers will ultimately lead more Kansans into career pathways such as Aviation, Advanced Manufacturing and Health Sciences.
