Argonia State Cross Country
HAXTON MAKES ARGONIA HISTORY!
On Saturday Oct. 28th Zach Haxton became the 1st ever Argonia cross country runner to medal at the state meet in Wamego. Needing to finish in the top 20 to earn a state medal, Zach sprinted to the finish to hold off a couple close competitors to hold on for the 20th place medal. Already owning the short lived Argonia record from the week before, Zach lowered his personal best time to an impressive 18:18 for the 3.1 mile course. Wamego was by far the hilliest course of the year and Zach mastered it, making his moves not only on the downhill but powering up the hills to pass other runners as they struggled to manage the steep hills. Zach has worked very hard this year and already has his sights set on a return trip to the state track meet this spring and a possible top 10 finish next year at the state cross country meet.
