Titans Headed to the State Championship Game

The A&A Titan football team took another step towards a title last Friday by defeating the Axtell Eagles at Sub-State by a score of 70-44.  The win puts the Titans in the championship game this Saturday vs. Victoria at Fisher Field in Newton at 11:00 a.m.

Coach Greenwood’s high potent offense found the end zone on 10 separate occasions. The offense was led by Alec’s 181 rushing yards and 5 TDs and 179 passing yards and 1 TD.  Devon chipped in 61 yards and had 4 total TDs.  Garrett collected 5 catches for 94 yards and Aaron had 2 receptions for 41 yards.  The offensive line, which consisted of Austin, Raydan, and Troy, did a fabulous job of opening holes for the backs and giving Alec time to throw.

Coach Vandeveer’s defense came up with some huge turnovers, 5 in all, and turned the momentum in the Titan’s direction late in the 2nd quarter.  Kolten and Garrett had interceptions, while Andrew recovered a fumble in the end zone for a TD.  The defensive line was led by Austin with great pressure on the QB.

Please come out and continue to support the Titans on Saturday as they look to bring home an 8‑Man Division II State Championship.
