Tall Tales from the Wild West
Launch the media gallery 1 playerThe fifth grade class presented their reader's theater, "Tall Tales from the Wild West", to the first and second grade classes. The fifth grades students worked hard creating a set that looked similar to a evening around a campfire. The five wily characters sit around the campfire telling one tall tale after another. Our characters included Annie Oakley (Rebekah Fitch), Pecos Bill (Tesla Prince), Paul Bunyan (Faith Gaddie), John Henry (Jesse Loveland), Sally Ann Thunder (Danielle Head), Narrator (Krissy Topinka) and Sound Effects (Austin Tracy and Andrew Mages). We had a great time setting up for the play and getting creative with our set. The students worked so hard and put out great effort in making everything seem as real as possible. The students made the play a lot of fun and I loved watching them work so hard and work so well with one another as they brainstormed their ideas for the play.
