Second Graders Back to School

Second Grade, Small but Mighty

The 2021-2022 Second Grade Class is small in size but, mighty in heart.  The first two days of school have been filled with activities and time sharing with one another about our summer vacations.  On the first day of school we read the book “First Day Jitters” by Julie Danneberg.  The story was about a girl not wanting to go to her new school.  In the end the kids discovered that the new girl was actually the teacher!  We all get different feelings about the first day of school.  We created a poster with how we all felt about the first day of school.  Friday, we read the book “Amelia Bedelia’s First Day of School” by Herman Parish.  I love sharing Amelia Bedelia with the students because she always does some crazy things!  Amelia Bedelia got to create an animal out of clay in her classroom so we made Play-doh so we could create things of our own.

The kids were exhausted by the middle of the day on Friday. They were curious if it was about time to go home and we only had four hours left in the day! LOL

The second-grade students this year are Trace, Azariah, Sophie, Weston, Emireyah, Haedyn, and Lane.  We are excited to get the year going!
