State says "Games can go on", but "No Spectators"

The Kansas State High School Activities Association (KSHSAA) met Tuesday afternoon to decide the fate of winter activities in Kansas. With over 5000 computers logged in as people across the state watched, the 78 voting members decided on the following limitations:

1. All activities will continue as scheduled (there was a proposal to postpone everything until January, but it failed)

2. There will be no spectators (including parents, which overrules our league's earlier decision to allow parents)

3. Masks are required to be on at all times by all people except players & officials on the floor (which isn't much of an issue with no spectators)

4. Moratorium period that is usually one week over Christmas break was extended to the entire break; nothing going on from Dec. 23rd - Jan. 3rd.

5. Games can't start back up after Christmas until Jan. 8th (which cuts out the first week of games, but practice resumes Jan. 4th)

6. These rules all go until January 28th at which time it reverts back to local control unless further action is taken (though KSHSAA post-season events will still have special rules).

In anticipation of limits on spectators, Argonia schools have been working hard the last several weeks to upgrade our livestreaming capability and hope to provide our patrons a high-quality viewing experience when our home seasons begin in December. Even though much of the season will be virtual, we hope everyone will still tune in to support our Raiders!!!
