Lil' Raiders Show Off Their Skills at the High School Basketball Game!
Argonia Elementary students in first, second and third grade participated in a month –long biddy ball clinic conducted by Coach Almanza. For four Sundays in December and January, the “Lil’ Raiders” practiced dribbling, passing, and shooting with Coach Almanza. At the end of the clinic the kids participated in a mini biddy ball game at half time of the Argonia High School girls game against Central Burden. Everyone had lots of fun and enjoyed playing in front of a huge crowd. We even scored a few baskets!!
This marks the eighth year Coach Almanza has conducted a clinic for the biddy ballers. Fifteen youngsters participated in this year’s clinic. They were:
First Graders:
Levi Morrison
Casten Koehler
Madison Jenkins
Kaitlynn Davis
Olivia Russo
Stephie Simpson
Second Graders:
Elijah Mabes
Kristian Calderon
Lakin Pontious
Wyatt Yates
Third Graders:
Zach Morrison
Easton Simon
Dylan Coleman
Emma Garlington
Braylon Jones
The introduction of basic skills at an early age will certainly benefit these young players as they get older and stronger. In addition to having fun and improving their basketball skills, each player also received a free t-shirt for attending the clinic.
Coach Almanza would like to thank all the parents who brought their kids to the clinic every Sunday.
