Free Books for Kids!

Launch the media gallery 1 playerSince becoming a first grade teacher, I have noticed even more the importance of children being read to and learning to read themselves. This year I decided to reach out on Facebook to see if there were any people willing to sponsor a student in my class to help get them a free book every month from the Scholastic book order. All it took was $8 per student to get each of my 15 students a free book every month. In a very short amount of time my class was completely sponsored and I had many more people willing to sponsor!
Launch the media gallery 2 playerI decided that I would try to get all students preschool to second grade covered, if I could, because I just kept receiving more and more messages that people wanted to help! Within two days I was able to get all 44 students in those grades covered due to the generosity of so many! The students received their first book in October and were so excited that they got to take it home and keep it! They will be receiving their free book for November in the next couple of weeks. Thank you to everyone who helped get books into the hands of these kiddos! We are truly grateful!
