By Hannah Hemberger

April 12, 2019

The Kansas Volleyball Association honors varsity teams and individual players that demonstrate superior academic achievement during their volleyball season. The All-Academic First Team consists of those players that letter with a 4.0 GPA, and players with a 3.75 – 3.99 GPA are named Honorable Mention. The Argonia Lady Raiders that received First Team honors are Alexis Vineyard, Aubreigh Haxton, and Karrlea Hessman. Baylee Booker and Cora Vineyard received the Honorable Mention award. In addition to the individual awards, the Argonia varsity team received the Team Academic Award, which is awarded to teams with an average GPA of 3.75 – 4.0. The Lady Raiders had an average GPA of 3.81 for first semester!

I am so very proud of these girls and their accomplishments on and off the court. My coaching philosophy incorporates respectable morals and values to help prepare these young girls for adulthood and stresses to them the importance of performing well in the classroom.

Thank you to the teachers and staff at Argonia High School for all your hard work and dedication in pushing our students in the classroom and supporting them in their extracurricular activities!
