Junior High Scholars Bowl In Full Swing
The Junior High Scholars Bowl season has been in full swing with 3 meets during the month of February. The SCBL is very competitive for both the 7th and 8th grade teams this year.
The 8th grade team includes Aidan Kollmeyer, Brook Love, Wesley Weishaar, Jed Phillips, Abigail Harbin, Emily Kesinger and Brenna Booker. During their first meet, the team went 1-3 in their pool play and missed finals. The next week, the team went 4-0 in their pool play, lost in the semi-finals, but won the last match to bring home the bronze medal. This past week, the team went 2-2 in their pool and just missed finals. The top scorers on the season are Aidan and Wesley.
The 7th grade team includes Dalton Morrison, Taylor Viohl, Heidi McCurley, Brenten Kelley, Maya Jones, and Elvis Gregg. During their first meet, the team went 2-2 in their pool play and missed finals. The next week, the team once again went 2-2 in their pool play, but advanced in a tiebreaker into the semi-finals where they beat the winner of the other pool. This win advanced them into the championship match where they lost, finishing with the silver medal. The top scorers on the season are Brenten and Dalton.
To wrap up the season, the league meet is scheduled for Monday, March 4th at Oxford. We want to thank each of these kids for their dedication and commitment to another successful scholars bowl season.
