Makayla Derixson Wins Raider of the Month for November 2018!

Makayla Derixson, a senior at AHS, became the next “Raider of the Month” for November, 2018.  The Activities/Athletics Department of Argonia Junior/Senior High School has decided to recognize one student a month who has demonstrated exceptional pride and integrity while competing in athletics or activities.  Students are nominated by coaches and sponsors and, once a month, a student is chosen as “Raider of the Month.” 

            Makayla was chosen for the month of November after being nominated by Mrs. Pipkin and Mr. Greenwood.  They had this to say about Makayla:

             Mrs. Pipkin:

             “I would like to nominate Makayla Derixson. Makayla has shown a willingness and also a sense of ownership with not only assigned tasks but other areas that she has personally recognized that               need to be addressed as well.  Makayla is willing to put out effort above and beyond what would be expected to help to support the needs of others and her school community.”

           Mr. Greenwood:

           “I would second Makayla’s nomination.  I thought she did an excellent job on picture day in Mr. Haxton’s absence.  She most always is pleasant in the hallways and is willing to lend a hand or ear                to anyone that needs it.”

         Makayla is currently a member of the AHS Choir. 

The “Raider of the Month” is part of a renewed effort to build school pride.  The student selected has their picture on a bulletin board along with comments from the coach or sponsor who nominated him or her.  Look for a new student in December!!
