Argonia PTO Launches Fundraising Campaign for Playground Equipment
Launch the media gallery 1 playerThe Argonia PTO has chosen to focus our fundraising efforts on upgrading the playground equipment at the elementary school. We will be working hard throughout the 2018-2019 school year to raise as much money as possible. The past two years, a grant has been offered that will match every dollar that is raised. Our hope is to be able to apply for this grant in October 2019.
Some of the fundraisers that we have planned are hosting a concession stand at the Argonia Drag Race on October 6th. We will serve pulled pork sandwiches, walking tacos, and chili dogs along with lots of snacks and drinks. Another great opportunity at the drag race is our 50/50 raffle. You can buy a raffle ticket for $1 or you can get 6 tickets for $5. The winner gets to split the proceeds 50/50 with the PTO! Who doesn’t like a chance to win cold hard cash?
We will kick off the Pennies for Playground activity on October 1st. Each class in the elementary school will have a donation bucket in their classroom to collect spare change. (Bills and Checks are also accepted). The class with the winning total on December 1st will be treated to a pizza party for lunch on December 12th! We want to involve the kids as much as possible because this is their playground! We want them to be excited and engaged as we work toward our goal.
During basketball season, we will be selling raffle tickets for an Argonia T-Shirt Quilt donated to us by Kira Froehlich. The winner will be selected during the last home basketball game of the season.
We are looking for other fundraising opportunities throughout the year. Please support this worthy cause and help us to get these much needed upgrades for our kids!
