I'm sure we've all heard the phrase, "An apple a day keeps the doctor away," but the FACS classes have learned that apples, and many other fruits, can be combined in unique ways! Students in culinary classes explored various techniques for preparing fruits and vegetables, combining these with other food groups, and the 'CHEFS' in the Culinary Arts class concluded this study with a timed competition in a modified version of the show, 'Chopped.' Mrs. Kayla Paxson not only helped with the 'judging but was also able to enjoy the 'fruit' of their labor!!!!
P.S. The chefs also showed her how to slice up a mango in record time!!!
