MakerSpace off to a great start!

Students were excited for their very first MakerSpace of the school year.  MakerSpace is a concept to reward excellent behavior at school. The students were rewarded by getting to have a BLOCK PARTY.  Legos, Cubes, Lincoln Logs, Tangrams, etc. were placed in the gym where students could enjoy 30 minutes of building and creating.  Please enjoy our slideshow to see some of our great creations. Makers believe that if you can imagine it, you can make it.  We see ourselves as more than consumers - we are productive; we are creative.  Everyone is a Maker, and our world is what we make it. Makers seek out opportunities to learn to do new things especially through hands-on, DIY (do it yourself) interactions.  Makers surprise and delight those who see their projects.  Makers comprise a community of creative and technical people that help one another do better.  They are open, inclusive, encouraging, and generous in spirit.  (Makerspace Playbook, Spring 2013)
