Titans 3 - 1 Heading into District Play

Titan Football

The A & A Titan football team has started the season 3 - 1 for the second straight season.  The Titans have posted wins over Central Burden 38 - 30, Flinthills 54 - 8, and South Barber 34 - 30.  The lone loss came at Caldwell 20 - 38.  A & A heads into district play after an exciting back and forth victory over South Barber.  The team hopes such a hard fought game will help to jump start them in district play.  Their district consists of Pratt-Skyline, Fairfield, Kiowa County, Macksville, and South Central.  As things stand right now it looks like it may be a three team race for the district title between A & A, Macksville, and South Central but everyone’s record gets reset when you head into districts.  The team knows that they will have to play at their best night in and night out if they hope to return to the playoffs for the fourth straight year.

The Titans are led on offense by senior quarterback Trevor Pierce.  Through four games Trevor has racked up 392 rushing yards and 324 passing yards.  Defensively, the team is paced by senior linebacker Anthony Handlin.  Anthony has been in on 39 tackles through the first four games.  Senior Kamden Basinger starts at center for the offense and Senior Micah Carter and Junior Zach Haxton both play on the special teams units.
