EMT Classes through Cowley Offered for Free for High School Students
I hope you are enjoying your summer. Cowley College is offering EMT and Fire Science courses this fall semester that fall under the SB155 funding (FREE TUITION!).
EMT – Winfield, M/TH, 6p-10p
EMT – Mulvane, W, 1p-5p On-Line/In Person Hybrid
Firefighter 1 – Ark City Fire Station, T/Th, 6p-9:30p*
HazMat – Ark City Fire Station, T/Th, 6p-9:30p Hybrid*
*Firefighter 1 and HazMat are offered simultaneously. Students must be 17 years of age to enroll, and 18 years of age to test for Firefighter 1 and HazMat certifications.
The EMT class is a prerequisite for our paramedic program and required for most fire department jobs. EMT is also very beneficial for students looking at nursing, medical school, PA, etc. as the skill-set and knowledge is applicable to all healthcare fields.
I’m happy to assist any interested students in enrolling.
Thank you!
