Titan Football Summer Weights

Parents and Players,

 

            As a prospective A&A Titan football player, I want to inform you of the lifting program and expectations of anyone who chooses to play on the Titan football team.  We as coaches believe that in order to be the most competitive team possible, we must make extra sacrifices.  We have high expectations of anyone who chooses to participate, just as you have high expectations of your coaches to be prepared as well.

            Lifting weights helps to make the body stronger and helps in preventing injuries.  All other great football teams are lifting and if you want to compete at the highest level, (which you should), you must be lifting as well.  That is the best way to get bigger, faster and stronger.  Attendance at summer weights will be given great consideration when the coaches set the early season depth chart.  Lifting weights will not guarantee you more playing time, but those who choose to lift will have the advantage in head to head comparisons.

            We will be maxing-out the last week of school, Tuesday May 16th – Thursday May 18th.  The first day of summer weights will be May 31stAttendance will begin at this time.  The weight room will be open on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 6:00a.m as denoted on the attached calendar.  This will allow those with summer jobs to come in and lift before going to work.  An athlete will be capable of completing a workout in approximately 45 minutes to one hour.  We will also be doing conditioning and football related drills after weights.  There is no such thing as an excused absence.  You either attend or receive no credit for the day.  Players must be careful and plan ahead on missed lifting days.  You have to complete the daily workout to be counted present.
