Ryder Ragan Wins Raider of the Month for April 2017!

Ryder Ragan, a sixth grader at Argonia Junior High, became the next “Raider of the Month” for April, 2017.  The Activities/Athletics Department of Argonia Junior/Senior High School has decided to recognize one student a month who has demonstrated exceptional pride and integrity while competing in athletics or activities.  Students are nominated by coaches and sponsors and, once a month, a student is chosen as “Raider of the Month.”

Ryder was chosen for the month of April after being nominated by Mr. Greenwood  He had this to say about Ryder:

“I would like to nominate 6th grader Ryder Ragan.  Ryder is very pleasant in the hallway.  He always greets me with a good morning if I see him before school.  Ryder also works hard in and out of the classroom.  He performed well at the league Math Relays where he brought home two medals and just missed earning a medal in a third event.  Ryder also voluntarily chose to continue basketball practice throughout the last couple of weeks of practice knowing that he wouldn't get to suit up for the games.  He chose to come to continue to make himself better and help his team.  He carried that work ethic over to the start of track season as he works hard, without complaint, to continue to get better at his events.  His work ethic and willingness to do what is asked of him is exactly what coaches are looking for!  Keep up the good work Ryder!”

The “Raider of the Month” is part of a renewed effort to build school pride.  The student selected has their picture on a bulletin board along with comments from the coach or sponsor who nominated him or her.  Look for a new student in May!!
