2017 Lil' Raiders Basketball Clinic a Success!

Argonia Elementary students in first and second grade participated in a month–long biddy ball clinic conducted by Coach Almanza.  For four Sundays in January and February, the “Lil’ Raiders” practiced dribbling, passing and shooting with Coach Almanza.  At the end of the clinic, the kids participated in a mini biddy ball game at half time of the Argonia High School girls game against Cedar Vale/Dexter.  Everyone had lots of fun and enjoyed playing in front of a huge crowd.   We even scored a few baskets!  Lindsay Coleman scored as well as Bohdan Severe.

This marks the sixth year Coach Almanza has conducted a clinic for first and second graders.  All years have been very successful.  Nine youngsters participated in this year’s clinic.  They were:

Second Graders:

Briley Booker

Bohdan Severe

First Graders

Garrett Morrison

Lindsay Coleman

Daisy Severe

Addison Quinn

Tanner McCurley

Ashlyn Vaughn

Corben Koehler

The introduction of basic skills at an early age will certainly benefit these young players as they get older and stronger.  In addition to having fun and improving on their basketball skills, each player also received a free t-shirt for attending the clinic.

Coach Almanza would like to thank all the parents who brought their kids to the clinic every Sunday.   This summer, Coach Almanza will conduct a week long basketball camp for all ages, so look for sign up sheets in the Spring!!
