TITLE ONE FIELD TRIP TO WICHITA RECYCLE CENTER

Every year for Earth Day, the Title One students head down to Argonia Park to pick up trash.  This year I thought it would be great for them to actually see where all that recycled trash ends up.

We ventured out to ProKansasRecycling to see first hand where all that recycled trash goes to.  We couldn't believe our eyes when we walked into the enormous warehouse filled with recycled items.  All of us were amazed at the huge bundles of trash.

Mrs. McDonald, a retired Science teacher, showed us around the center.  We were in awe of the thousands and thousands of plastic bottles, tin cans, sheets of papers.....

Mrs. McDonald led us into her recycle classroom where we learned so much more about recycling.  She also showed us some neat art projects that we're going to make next year for Earth Day.

We were proud that we recycled here at school and we hope that everyone reading this will also recycle.  It is so important for our Earth!

The Recycle center is located at 725 E. Clark in Wichita, Kansas.  They do take volunteers and I for one will be volunteering my time this summer.

Remember:  REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE!
