4th Graders Raise Money for PTO
The Argonia 4th graders had a bake sale May 16th at the park during Argonia DAZE. We raised money for PTO to go towards new recess equipment. We came up with this idea as a class. In our reading unit, we read about kids who started businesses and gave back to the community. We decided to start a business. We wrote down ideas and we all wanted to do a bake sale. We sold lots of tasty treats! We also dyed a lot of hair which was the most popular. We had all sorts of cakes, cookies, brownies, breads, and cupcakes. We had a guess the amount jar that was full of candy. We also sold refreshing drinks. We had Tropical Punch and Lemonade. Unfortunately, it started to storm so we had to shut down and sell the rest of the baked goods at the Honors Assembly on Monday. We raised $490.75! We sold everything we baked. People donated some money and from the donations we had about $160.00! We are thinking about getting kickball bases and soccer goals. The winner for the candy jar was Chelsea Coleman. There were 113 candies and she guessed 105 candies. She was only 8 candies off! The second best guess was Ryder Ragan with a guess of 102 candies. We would have made more money at Argonia DAZE if the storms didn’t come in but we were still happy with the money we raised. We had lots of fun and were very thankful. Thank you for your support all the way through! The fourth graders are Brenna Booker, Abigail Harbin, Emily Kesinger, Aidan Kollmeyer, Brooke Love, Whyatt Owens, Jed Phillips, Ryder Ragan, Bella Robinson, Damien Smith, and Wesley Weishaar.
