Kamden Basinger Wins "Raider of the Month" for May, 2015!!
Kamden Basinger, a freshman at AHS, became the next “Raider of the Month” for May, 2015. The Activities/Athletics Department of Argonia High School has decided to recognize one student a month who has demonstrated exceptional pride and integrity while competing in athletics or activities. Students are nominated by coaches and sponsors and, once a month, a student is chosen as “Raider of the Month.”
Kamden was chosen for the month of May after being nominated by Mr. Greenwood and Mr. Gessleman. They had this to say about Kamden:
Mr. Greenwood:
“I would like to nominate Kamden Basinger for Raider of the Month. As a freshmen Kamden participates in numerous of our school activities; music, band, scholars bowl, KAY club, football, basketball, track, and is one of two boys that participated in powerlifting. Rarely will you see Kamden without a smile on his face and it is even more rare that you'll ever hear anyone say a bad thing about him. He continuously works as hard as he can even though he may not get the recognition. Kamden is the first to volunteer for any project and never leaves until it is complete. Kamden's work ethic and positive attitude embody the RAIDER PRIDE that we strive for here at Argonia High School.”
Mr. Gessleman:
“Kamden does well in class each and every day. He is willing to work with all of his classmates. Kamden goes out for each of the three sports offered at AHS. Finally, it is nice to see Kamden's smiling face in the hallways of Argonia High School.”
The “Raider of the Month” is part of a renewed effort to build school pride. The student selected has their picture on a bulletin board along with comments from the coach or sponsor who nominated him or her. Look for a new student in September!!
