Raiders Conclude 2013-2014 Basketball Season
The Argonia Red Raiders finished their season with a loss to Colony Crest at the Sub-State Tournament. Although they were disappointed in the loss, they played extremely hard and were competitive throughout the game. They led most of the game, but were eventually beat by 4. Garrett Wells led the Raiders in scoring, throwing in 25 points.
The Raiders finished the season with eight wins, a huge improvement from last year. This year, the Raiders, who did not have a senior take the floor, won more games than the last three years combined. A number of players stepped up this year. Garrett Wells led us in scoring, averaging approximately 18 points per game. Kolten Koerner, Evan Dolley and Aaron Harsh, started most games as sophomores, and continued to improve throughout the season. Dalton Good and Andrew Mages both contributed valuable minutes toward the end of the season. Jerry Swart and Austin Tracy, as the only players with three years of varsity experience, provided valuable leadership. Seth Hemberger, starting at point guard as a freshman, grew throughout the season and became a solid floor leader by the time post season rolled around. A special congratulations goes to Garrett Wells, who was named to First Team All-SCBL.
Finally, the Raiders would like to thank all the parents, students, and fans who supported them throughout the year. And special thanks goes to Matt Harsh, who filmed our games and routinely helped out in practice.
