No one attended the budget hearing.
President Rick Nafziger called the meeting to order at 8:00p.m. with four members present. Those members present were Rick Nafziger, Scott Greenwood, Randy Simon, and Sarah Vineyard. Also present were High School Principal Travis Reibel, Superintendent Dr. Julie Dolley, and Clerk Linda White.
Robert Pike, Ron Work, and Joe Allen were absent.
A motion was made by Scott Greenwood, seconded by Sarah Vineyard to approve the agenda as amended. Motion carried 4-0.
A motion was made by Randy Simon, seconded by Scott Greenwood to approve the minutes of the July 12th meeting as presented. Motion carried 4-0.
Rick Nafziger moved and Randy Simon seconded to approve the warrants as presented. Motion carried 4-0.
Dixie Brewster arrived at 8:07p.m. She addressed the board on the high school girls’ basketball uniform issues. Dixie left at 8:27p.m.
HS Principal Travis Reibel informed the board of the new KSHSAA Concussion and Heat Information, some handbook changes, and the Erie Training of the Project Based Learning Program.
Rick Nafziger advised the board of the meeting held July 26th at the Sumner County Interlocal 619 office in Wellington.
No Service Center report was given in the absence of Joe Allen.
Superintendent Dolley informed the board of the City Strategic Planning Meetings, the board positions up for re- election, and the preliminary enrollment numbers.
Scott Greenwood moved and Randy Simon seconded to approve the elementary handbook as presented. Motion carried 4-0. Rick Nafziger moved and Sarah Vineyard seconded to approve the high school handbook as presented. Motion carried 4-0.
Motion by Randy Simon and seconded by Scott Greenwood to approve Blue Cross/Blue Shield as our health insurance carrier for the 2010-2011 school year. Motion carried 4-0.
Motion by Sarah Vineyard, seconded by Rick Nafziger to approve the Student Assurance Broad Plan for the 2010-2011 school year. Motion carried 4-0.
Motion by Scott Greenwood, seconded by Randy Simon to approve the bid by Hiland Diary for the 2010-2011 school year. Motion carried 4-0.
Randy Simon moved to accept the fuel bid from the Danville Coop for the 2010-2011 school year. Sarah Vineyard seconded the motion and it carried 4-0.
A motion was made by Sarah Vineyard and seconded by Rick Nafziger to accept the gift to the school district from the Vacation Bible School children as presented. Motion carried 4-0.
A motion was made by Rick Nafziger and seconded by Scott Greenwood to approve Policy Amendment GBARB as presented. Motion carried 4-0.
Scott Greenwood moved and Sarah Vineyard seconded to approve the 2010-2011 Budget as presented. Motion carried 4-0.
Sarah Vineyard moved and Scott Greenwood seconded to approve the purchase of a mower not to exceed nine thousand dollars. Motion carried 4-0.
Motion by Scott Greenwood, seconded by Randy Simon to adjourn the meeting at 11:55 p.m. Motion carried 4-0.
