ARGONIA STUDENTS MEET HENRY WINKLER
by Terry Lawrence
February 22, 2010
Henry Winkler is best known as "The Fonz" but to us at Argonia Elementary School he is best known as the author of the Hank Zipzer books. Since 2003, Winkler has authored 17 children's books about the funny adventures of Hank Zipzer, a young boy with dyslexia, who learns how to overcome his learning challenges. Winkler was diagnosed himself with dyslexia at the age of 31. This was mainly why he decided to write the Hank Zipzer books.
On Monday, February 15th, Mr. Winkler spoke to a packed Sports Arena in Hutchinson and we were so excited to be able to actually get to meet with him and talk to him about how much we loved his books. We got to talk about why we loved Hank so much and how we always laughed when we read his books. It was an experience that we'll never forget! We told him we were anxiously awaiting his next book. We highly recommend reading the Hank Zipzer books. You'll have many "Happy Days" of reading.
