Silent Bid Auction of 2010 Seniors

February 12

by Samantha Coleman

February 05, 2010

The Argonia Senior Class is full of many different talented people. To put our talents to good use, our senior class will be having a silent bid action of our class members to raise money for our senior trip. Some of our talents are driving tractors, house cleaning or any other type of house work, babysitting, farming, or anything else that fits your needs.

There will be eighteen different seniors up for grabs. The silent bid sheets will be placed in the hallway of the high school during the high school basketball game on February 12. There will be posters with a picture of the person, their name, and what skills they have to offer. The first bid is a minimum of twenty-five dollars. To bid on the senior of your choice, you will need to write your name and phone number on the paper below the students poster and the amount that you’re willing to pay. We will let you know at half time of the Boys game who bought who and for how much. Checks need to be made out to the Argonia Senior Class. Sponsors will be collecting money after announcing who has the winning bids.

One of the benefits of buying a senior is that you can have them work for you for up to eight hours. The day will begin no earlier than 8:00a.m. and last no longer than 5:00p.m. If you need your senior at a later time during the day, maybe for a babysitting night, that needs to be discussed between you and the senior. After winning the bid on your specific senior, you both will decide the date and time that fits your schedules.

Thank you for any other donations and for supporting your local senior class. Our class sponsors are Miss Wattson, Mr. Krell, and Mr. Dickerson. They would like to have some feedback from those of you who win the silent bids as to how well the students upheld their obligation to an honest day’s work. You can contact them at school.

Thanks again to our wonderful community for showing your support to our school district and the students. We hope to see you there!
