Lady Raiders Defeat Warriors

The Argonia Lady Raider basketball team traveled to Wichita and defeated the Wichita Warriors 78-34 on January 26th. The second half of play was much better than the first and Argonia led 52-34 after 3 quarters of play. Non-starters rounded out play in the 2nd half and scored 26 points in the fourth quarter. Brandi Daerr, Lindsay Drouhard and Devon Allen combined for 16 points and shot well for Argonia. Jaci Peetoom scored 20 points, Ashton Stansbury 15, Brooke Boatright 13, and Davi Peetoom 10 to lead the way offensively for Argonia. Rachel Simon added 4 points and 7 rebounds. Brooke led in rebounding with 10 and Ashton added 9. The team combined for 22 steals and 14 assists and had a season high 47 rebounds. The Junior Varsity contest was close against the Warriors, but Argonia came out winning 22-21 in two quarters of play. Brandi Daerr led with 13 points, Jaci Peetoom scored 6, and Rachel Simon added 3. Free throw shooting was a key to the victory as Argonia hit 8 of 10. Friday and Saturday's games were canceled due to the weather and Tuesday, February 2nd the Raiders travel to Caldwell. Friday February 5th is Homecoming and Elk Valley will be the opponent.
