Argonia Lady Raiders Win SCBL Tournament

Argonia improved their record to 12-0 after defeating Cedar Vale/Dexter 54-32 in Saturday's championship game in Ark City. The Lady Raiders led 19-5 in the first quarter and the Lady Spartans only came as close as 13 points in the third quarter before Argonia pulled away in the fourth and outscored them 16-5. Argonia's defense held CV/Dexter's Massy and Hafenstein to 9 points each and tallied 15 steals for the game. Davi Peetoom led the Lady Raiders in scoring with 13 points and posted 8 rebounds while Brooke Boatright added 12 points, 8 rebounds, 5 steals, and 6 assists. Freshman Jaci Peetoom came off the bench to score 10 points and added 4 steals on the night. Ali Brewster added 10 points, Rachel Simon 6, and Ashton Stansbury added 3 points and 6 rebounds.

The Argonia Lady Raiders defeated the Lady Blue Devils from Sedan 73-36 on Thursday night at Cowley County Community College in the semi-finals of the SCBL Tournament. Argonia jumped out to a 30-4 first quarter lead and it was a night where defense created lay ups. The Lady Raiders tallied 28 steals and 25 assists for an excellent game of hustle and unselfish play. Brooke Boatright led the way for Argonia scoring 23 points, 9 rebounds, and 8 steals/assists. Teammate Ali Brewster posted 16 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 steals. Senior Davi Peetoom scored 14 points, 6-6 from the line, and added 4 steals and 4 assists. Others that scored in the contest were Jaci Peetoom 11, Rachel Simon 5, Brandi Daerr 2 and Devon Allen 2.
