Scholarship Informtion

 

Kansas Masonic Foundation Education Department-  Scholarships available.  Must be in the loan program for two years, remain a full-time students and maintain a 3.5 or higher.  May go to www.kmfonline.org  for more information.

 

AXA Achievement Scholarship  (US News & World Report)- $10,000 national scholarships to 52 students, 1 in each state plus Puerto Rico and Washington D.C./$15,000 to 10 national recipients.  The national recipients will receive a computer for college and be offered internships at AXA offices for a total of $25,000.00.  Winners are known as AXA Achievers.  Go to www.axa-achievement.com for more details and how to apply.  Deadline is December 15, 2009.

 

2009  Horatio Alger Scholarship.  For students are in a critical financial need, intends to attain a bachelor’s degree, be involved in extracurricular activities.  Minimum GPA is 2.0 and must be a US Citizen.  For online application go to www.horatioalger.org/scholarships.  Students must mail 1 letter of support from an adult who understands your adversity and can describe the unique circumstances in your life.  Only one letter permitted. Deadline is October 30, 2009.

 

Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation Scholarship- 250 available, 50 will receive awards for $20,000, 200 students will receive $10,000.  Go to www.coca-colascholars.org to apply.   Students may NOT download and application and then send it in,   IT MUST BE SUBMITTED ONLINE by the deadline of October 31, 2009

 

The Conclave Scholarships-6 Conclave Broadcasting & Music Industry Scholarships Available.  Go to www.theconclave.com or www.radioscholarships.comDeadlines are from February 1, 2010 to March 1, 2010.

The Christian Connector Inc. provides free Christian college information and has a drawing for a $2,500 scholarship.  Go to www.christianconnector.com to request information and automatically be entered in the drawing. 

 

College Scholarship Information

 

Barton Community College, Sports Medicine Department is offering a student athletic trainer position with Tuition and Books Scholarship.  Must maintain 2.0 GPA and 12 credit hours.  If  interested go to http://www.bartonnccc.edu/sports/sportsmedicine/default.htm . to fill out survey and to gain more information.

 

Coffeyville Community College-Athletic Training Program or Health Related Field (Medicine,  in these fields.  Go to www.coffeyville.edu and follow the Athletics Home Page Link for more information.  Your may also call 620-252-7116 and talk to Rick King (Head Athletic Trainer) or Vanessa Martin, (Assistant Athletic Trainer) for questions.  The scholarship is for approximately $1500.  Per semester.

 

Coffeyville Community College:  Kansas Enhancement Scholarship-Eligible activities:  agriculture, athletic training, cheer, dance, inst. Music, meats judging, rodeo, theatre, art, broadcasting, choral music, horticulture, livestock judging, Native American Leadership, & student government.  Students must take 16 credit hours and will only end up paying an estimate of $3,000 per year for housing, meals, tuition and books.  Presidential Honor Scholarships will receive a full scholarship with a 28 ACT for room, board, tuition, fees and loan of books.  Go to www.coffeyville.edu or call 877-51-raven for questions.

 

Kansas State University Civic Leader Scholarship Competition and earn from $2,000 to $4,000.  Go to www.consider.k-state.edu/financialaid/ for an application, then go to

www.k-state.edu/nss/civicleadership for supplemental application.  Submit all applications by the deadline of Monday, December 14, 2009  to Tamera Bauer, Assistant Coordinator of New Student Services, K-State New Student Services, 122 Anderson Hall, Manhattan, KS 66506-0119 or fax to (785)532-7091.  Finalists are required to participate in an interview and recognition ceremony on Thursday, January 21, 1010.  

 

Pittsburg State University Honors College:  Must have 28 ACT score and 3.5 GPA.  Please go to www.pittstate.edu/academics/honors for details to apply.

Washburn University-2009-10 Garvey Competitive Scholarship (Garvey Exam) - Must have a 3.25 GPA and admissions application filled out by December 16, 2009.  Competition is at 9am on Saturday, November 21st and at 6pm on Wednesday, December 9 at Topeka, KS and Saturday, December 5th at 9am at Hays, KS.  Students must arrive 30 minutes prior to test.  All admissions criteria must be submitted by December 16, 2009.  This free exam can only be taken one time.  Scholarships are for $500.00 to $2,000.00 annually.

 

Fort Hays State University- Priority Scholarship deadline is December 15, 2009 and the final deadline is February 15, 2010.  Call Custer Hall Building/Scholarship/Financial Aid Office for questions at 800-628-3478 or 785-628-4419.  Applications must be submitted online at www.fhsu.edu/finaid .  Scholarships are Presidential-30-36 ACT/$2,000, Miller Black & Gold 28-36 ACT/$1200., Hays City Silver 24-27ACT/$800.00, Bronze Academic 22-23 ACT/$700.00, Copper Academic 21ACT/$500.00.  There are more based on high act scores and as a new Freshman.  Most are renewable if college GPA is 3.3 cumulative and maintained each semester.  Must also be enrolled full time.

 

Kansas University-Hixson Opportunity Awards. Each recipient may earn up to $5,000 per year for up to 4 years.  This award is for students who have experienced significant challenges that may hinder ability to attend college.  Only 10 scholarships for freshmen are available.  Go to www.scholarships.ku.edu/hixson.shtml for online applications.  Deadline is February 1, 2010. 

 

Lincoln College of Technology, Denver, CO $1,000 scholarship for Auto/Diesel.  Submit by May, 1, 2010.  Other scholarships are available through Lincoln College go to www.lincolncollegeoftechnology.com for more information.
