Lady Raiders Defeat Pretty Prairie

The Argonia Lady Raider Basketball Team played in Pretty Prairie January 5th and were victorious 68-24. Jumping out to a 22-1 first quarter lead, Argonia's defense was solid. The Lady Bulldogs scored 11 second quarter points and the half-time score was 40-12. Argonia tallied 31 steals and 19 assists, while committing 16 turnovers. Davi Peetoom, Brooke Boatright, and Ali Brewster each had 7 steals and Brandi Daerr and Brooke both led the team with 5 assists apiece. Brandi also led in rebounding with 8. The Lady Raiders shot 42% from the field and 69% from the line making 11 of 16. Scoring for the Lady Raiders: Simon 7, Daerr 4, Tracy 2, Brewster 6, J. Peetoom 8, D. Peetoom 15, Allen 2, Stansbury 10, Boatright 14. Hines led Pretty Prairie in scoring with 9. Friday's game against Sedan was canceled due to the weather in Sedan, and will be played January 30th --J.V. will start at 3:00pm. Tuesday's game is vs. Udall and Friday January 15th, Argonia faces South Haven in Argonia. The SCBL Tournament will be held at Cowley College in Ark City January 16-23.
