Argonia Lady Raiders Stand at 6-0

Traveling to Goessel on Friday night December 18, the Lady Raiders defeated the Bluebirds 50-31. Argonia's second half of play was much improved from the first, and outscored Goessel 29-10. The Lady Raiders post play proved to be the best of this season and found Davi Peetoom and Ashton Stansbury combining for 40 points and 17 rebounds. Statistical leaders for the Goessel game include Ashton Stansbury and Ali Brewster with 9 rebounds, Brooke Boatright 8, and Ali posted 6 steals. Brooke Boatright and Rachel Simon led the team in assists with 4 and Ali Brewster added 3 blocked shots. Scoring totals: Stansbury-24, D. Peetoom 16, Simon 4, Brewster 4 and Boatright 2.

The Junior Varsity contest was an exciting game that came down to the wire with Argonia prevailing 35-29. Morgan Tracy led all scorers with 14, Brandi Daerr added 9, Lindsay Drouhard 6, Devon Allen 4, and Shannon Neifert 2. Argonia went strong to the boards, posting 40 rebounds for the contest - Morgan 12, Brandi and Shannon 7, Lindsay and Devon 5, Jaci and Brandy Mabes 2. Argonia's defense created 20 steals, where Brandi and Jaci led the way with 6 and 4 respectively.

Both teams will be back in action on January 5^th in Pretty Prairie. The next home contest will be against a good Sedan team on January 8^th .
