Lady Raiders Defeat Oxford

Argonia girls basketball team stands at 5-0 as the Christmas Break draws near. Tuesday's game against Oxford found the Lady Raiders winning 57-36. The first three quarters of play were somewhat sluggish for Argonia, as their intensity was missing and shots were not falling. The Lady Raiders improved their game in the final quarter and held the Wildcats to just 6 points, while adding 17. Argonia posted single-digit turnovers, added 12 steals and 14 assists.  Three Argonia girls scored in double figures – Ashton Stansbury-12, Brooke Boatright-12, and Ali Brewster-10. Davi Peetoom added 9 points, Rachel Simon 5, Morgan Tracy 4, Brandi Daerr 3, and Jaci Peetoom 2. Ali Brewster led in rebounding with 12, while Davi Peetoom added 9. Oxford was led by Sarah White and Kaitlin Norris who scored 12 and 9 points respectively.

The Junior Varsity contest found Argonia on top 33-7. Jaci Peetoom led the way with 15 points and Brandi Daerr added 12. Devon Allen scored 4 points and Shannon Neifert 2. Argonia's J.V. played well defensively and tallied 13 steals and 6 assists while playing only 2 quarters for the game. Brandi added 5 steals and 4 assists and Morgan Tracy led in rebounding with 6.

Friday night Argonia will travel to Goessel for the final game prior to Christmas Break.
