PTO April Meeting Minutes

Meeting was called to order by co-chair Sarah Vineyard. Minutes were recorded by Secretary Melinda McCurley.
Treasurer Kelly Basinger gave the Treasurer’s Report, we have $5460.18 in checking. This will allow almost $4200.00 to be given to the school. We will check with Dr. Dolley to see what items are needed for the schools.
Fun Night was a huge success, we made $976.00. It was discussed that we hold the fun night every other year and try to get a larger obstacle course as it was very popular. $135.00 was made from the jail. We will need additional workers for the jail.
We voted on the fall fundraiser and we decided to go with Celebrate Home which is Home and Garden Party and Home Interiors combined. They sell candles, and various soup, cookie and dip mixes. We set our own profit/prices and they will ship all of the order together to who sold it. For example, John sells 100 candles, all of his candles would be boxed together. They also will do the prizes.
Other fundraiser ideas were discussed, Scrip Gift Card Program, and Yankee Candle.
The school reached their goal for the box tops and the party will be Thursday, May 21st. Kylie will check on the ice cream prices and get some donations for the toppings.
Teacher appreciation week is the week of May 3rd. Kylie will organize a snack day on Thursday May 7th. We will do a snack room for the elementary and the high school building.
Sarah asked for volunteers for the various committees. Kylie Phillips and Melinda McCurley volunteered to chair the soup supper, Megan McDaniel will chair Susan’s Portraits, Sarah Vineyard will chair the Campbell’s Soup Labels, Kerri Cotta and Wyndy Harrill will chair the Box Top Program, Katrina Love will chair the Christmas Shop, Kelly Basinger will chair Skate Night, and Robyn Haxton will chair the Valentine’s Day Bingo Party. Sarah will send a note out to get the rest of the committee volunteers.
We elected Katrina Love to replace Sarah Vineyard as co-chair, as she is on the school board now. Kelly Basinger will remain as Treasurer, Melinda McCurley will remain Secretary, and Kylie Phillips will remain as Co-Chair.
It was suggested that we have sign-up sheets for PTO and information on when the meetings are during the enrollment process.
The meetings for next year will be on the 3rd Monday of the month.
Officers voted on the College Scholarship applications.
