Heart and Cancer Fund Basketball Games

Argonia Elementary School held its Annual Heart and Cancer Fund Basketball games on Tuesday, April 7. Students in 2nd through 5th grade participated in the basketball games and provided a lot of enjoyment for their parents and community members who came out to watch them play. All the games were pretty close and a great time was had by all those who attended.
A special award was given to Margie Goodman who has been conducting this fundraising event for 40 years. She and her husband Johnny were honored during a ceremony between games. There was also a cake and pie auction along with a bake sale and concessions.
The event raised $960.35. All proceeds were sent to the American Heart Association and the American Cancer Society.
