Jr. High Track is doing fine in 09

The Argonia Indians track team is doing well so far into their 09 season. The team consists of 13 girls and 11 boys. We have participated in 4 meets thus far, and I have been very pleased with the outcome of our over-all performances. These student/athletes work hard everyday in practice and show up at our meets expecting to win.
Something new to Argonia Indian track is that we have sixth graders participating this season. I have really enjoyed adding them to the roster. They have been working just as hard as their upper classmen to achieve their goals. I am very proud of them for how hard they work everyday and the way they have conducted themselves at meets thus far. They have been a nice addition to the Indian track team.
We have students trying new events this season. Stepping out of their comfort zone is something that doesn't come easy for Jr. High students, but I would like to commend our athletes for accepting the changes with stride and for having the willingness to adapt to change and overcome obstacles that lie their path. I would like to encourage our young athletes to keep working very hard so that they are at their individual peaks going into our next three meets on April 8 at Cheney, April 30 at Norwich, and the last one being our League meet at Central Burden.
While I have your attention I need to inform all the parents that there will be a gate charge at the League meet this year. It will be $1.00 for students and $2.00 for adults.
To give an overview of our accomplishments, the 6-8 girls division has achieved 56 medals thus far into their 09 season. The 6-8 boys division has achieved 50 medals thus far. I don't mind bragging on these young athletes especially when they deserve it. Indians, keep up the good work and continue to work hard everyday and victory will be yours. Continue to achieve your individual goals and keep raising the bar for yourselves and grow as a person who likes competition and loves to compete. I am looking forward to the second half of our season and the rewards lay ahead of us. GOOD LUCK INDIANS!
