Special Meeting Minutes
June 11, 2008
Call the Meeting to Order: President Joe Allen called the meeting to order at 4:10 p.m. with five members present. Those members present were Joe Allen, Rick Nafziger, Randy Simon, Ron Work, and Scott Greenwood. Also present were Superintendent Julie Dolley and Clerk Linda White. Lana Parks and Robert Pike were absent.
1. Approve Agenda: Motion by Randy Simon, seconded by Ron Work to approve the agenda as presented. Motion carried 5-0.
2. Discussion and/or Appropriate Action
A. HS Principal Interviews: Rick Nafziger moved and Scott Greenwood seconded to enter executive session at 4:35 p.m. for one hour to discuss non-elected personnel to protect the privacy rights of the individual(s) to be discussed. Dr. Dolley was invited to remain. Motion carried 5-0. The board returned to regular session at 5:35 p.m.
Lana Parks arrived at 5:22 p.m. and joined the executive session.
A motion was made by Rick Nafziger and seconded by Scott Greenwood to enter executive session for ten minutes at 5:35 p.m. to discuss non-elected personnel to protect the privacy rights of the individual(s) to be discussed. Dr Dolley was invited to remain. Motion carried 6-0. The board of education returned to regular session at 5:45 p.m.
The board of education recessed for supper at 6:00 p.m.
Robert Pike arrived at 6:35 p.m.
The board of education reconvened at 6:40 p.m.
Motion by Rick Nafziger and seconded by Scott Greenwood to enter executive session at 6:45 p.m. for fifty-five minutes to discuss non-elected personnel to protect the privacy rights of the individual(s) to be discussed. Dr. Dolley was invited to remain. The motion carried 7-0. The board returned to regular session at 7:40 p.m.
Motion by Rick Nafziger and seconded by Scott Greenwood to enter executive session at 8:40 p.m. for one hour to discuss non-elected personnel to protect the privacy rights of the individual(s) to be discussed. Dr. Dolley was invited to remain. Motion carried 7-0. The board returned to regular session at 9:40 p.m.
Motion by Rick Nafziger and seconded by Scott Greenwood to enter executive session for ten minutes at 9:40 p.m. to discuss non-elected personnel to protect the privacy right of the individual(s) to be discussed. The motion carried 7-0. Dr. Dolley was invited to remain. The board of education returned to regular session at 9:50 p.m.
Motion by Rick Nafziger and seconded by Scott Greenwood to enter executive session for forty-five minutes at 10:00 p.m. to discuss non-elected personnel to protect the privacy rights of the individual(s) to be discussed. Dr. Dolley and staff members Sandy Bruce, Pat Conklin, Dennis Dickerson, Bobby Gessleman, Michelle Harsh, and Shelly Kern were invited to join. The board returned to regular session at 10:45 p.m.
The high school staff members left the meeting at 10:45 p.m.
Motion by Rick Nafziger and seconded by Scott Greenwood to enter executive session at 10:59 p.m. for one hour to discuss non-elected personnel to protect the privacy rights of the individual(s) to be discussed. Dr. Dolley was invited to remain.
The board returned to regular session at 11:59 p.m.
Motion by Scott Greenwood and seconded by Lana Parks to offer a contract to the high school principal candidate as discussed.
Adjournment: A motion was made by Ron Work and seconded by Scott Greenwood to adjourn the meeting at 12:00 a.m. Motion carried 7-0.
