Students learn about Chinese New Year

by Mrs. Conklin

May 27, 2008

Students at the elementary were pleased to have Kun Zhang (pronounced  like Quin Jon) from the Clearwater Service Center come and talk about the Chinese New Year.  Kun has been living in the states since August, 2007 and has been teaching Mandarin Chinese to schools in our area.  Her husband and son have joined her here and are making their home in Clearwater.  Kun will continue to teach Mandarin Chinese and present special programs about her native China.

Kun tries to demonstrate how to use chopsticks.

Argonia students enjoyed her presentation and she proceeded to teach them how to use chopsticks.  Some of the students did very well and others needed more practice.  We want to thank Kun for coming to Argonia and sharing with us.
