February 25, 2008
The meeting was called to order by Treasurer, Kelly Basinger. The minutes were recorded by Secretary, Melinda McCurley.
Kelly Basinger gave the Treasurer’s Report. The checking account had $5454.34 and the Savings Account had $1399.09.
Janis Kiser gave an update on the Box Tops Program. She sent in this past weekend $199.50 which puts us past the goal of $300.00. Any Box Tops received from now on, will be put towards next year. We decided to have the Box Tops Party in conjunction with an Assessments Party on Wednesday, May 21st from 2:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. Janis will send out a letter asking for volunteers to bring the food or to help serve. Wayne Vineyard has volunteered to grill the hotdogs. We will split the classes up, K-3 will attend the party from 2:30 – 3:00 and 4-6 will attend from 3:00 to 3:30.
Melinda McCurley gave an update on the Soup Labels. Sarah has turned in 500 UPC Codes which this month they were having a promotion and we were able to double the UPC’s turned in to 1000. The total UPC points we have so far is 1100. We are still waiting for some activity forms to be turned in so we could earn some bonus points.
Mr. Murray reported that they have not been able to reach the Alaska presenter. We will wait until next meeting to decide on the presenter. If we still haven’t heard from him, we will look into an activity for the Box Tops Party.
The Kindergarten tassels have been ordered and Mrs. Neifert will submit a receipt for reimbursement. Kindergarten Graduation will be on May 8th in which the PTO will give an update on the past year to the audience. May 19th is the Honor’s Program and we will also give an update then.
Kelly reported that Diane Bacon needs the criteria for the PTO Scholarship. Kim Kiser will do some research and get with Kelly to design the criteria for the Scholarship.
