Argonia PTO Meeting Minutes
January 28, 2008

The meeting was called to order by Co-Chair, Sarah Vineyard. The minutes were recorded by Secretary, Melinda McCurley.
Kelly Basinger gave the Treasurer’s Report. The checking account had $5454.34 and the Savings Account had $1399.09. The December bake sale brought in $54.75 and the January bake sale brought in $41.00. For the Secret Santa Shop we brought in $1648.75 and the clear profit was $259.30.
Sarah Vineyard read a Thank You note from Hannah Hemberger for the IDL Scholarship.
Janis Kiser gave an update on the Box Tops Program. She is still receiving several and the deadline for this school year to reach the goal is approaching. She will send out a reminder to the parents and put an article in the paper along with names of those supporting the program that don’t have children in the school district.
The Second Grade bake sale will be held February 29, 2008.
Sarah Vineyard gave an update on the Soup Labels. We received 100 points for signing up with 427 Labels collected so far. The school can earn 2000 bonus points each school year by submitting paper work for various health related activities. Body Walk, Jump Rope for Heart, etc.
Every class has a party leader for the Valentine’s Day parties.
The Argonia PTO Skate Nights that are held on the first Monday of the month in Harper have been successful. We will check with Jean on the exact amount and if they will wait until the end of the year to send the proceeds.
Dr. Dolley reported that they have not been able to reach the Alaska presenter.
There was discussion on having a fun night this year. It was decided that we will not have a fun night this year and we will try to keep it to every other year. We might be able to incorporate some games into the Box Tops party.
