* NEW THIS YEAR ON FAFSA FORMS: The school or counselor will no longer receive FAFSA forms by mail for the students to fill out. The students/parents must apply for pin numbers and order up to three forms online. The preferred method is to fill out the forms online. Details will be covered at the Financial Aid Night. Students may call and receive up to 3 copies by mail at 800-433-3243.
General Information
College Goal Sunday-February 10, 2008 from 2:00-4:00 at several locations. Wichita has 2 locations. From 2:00-4:00 pm, Financial Aid Counselors will be available to help you apply for a Department of Education PIN and/or complete your 2007-2008 Free application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Kansas Masonic Foundation Student Loan Program. See brochure for details or call Mrs. Bacon for a copy. Rates have been lowered from 5% to 4% (Could change this year). For more information, call 785-357-7646 or go to www.kmfonline.org.

Scholarship Information
Kansas Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (KACRAO) Quality Leadership Scholarship4 available for $500.00. Must have a 3.25 GPA, 22 ACT, provide evidence of leadership experience. May go to www.kacrao.org for winners (also receive a letter). Deadline is 3-15-08.
Sam Walton Community Scholarship for $1,000.00. Go to www.walmartfoundation.org. for details and application. Must not be an employee of Wal-Mart or child or legal dependent of an associate of Wal-Mart. Deadline is January 14, 2008.
National Commission for Cooperative Education/ National CO-OP Scholarship Program-175 Merit Scholarships Totaling $3,500,000.00. Must have 3.5 GPA or better, Complete the application and a typed 1 page essay describing why you have chosen to pursue a college cooperative education program, and must be accepted at one or more of the eleven NCCE Partner Colleges and Universities. Go to www.co-op.edu for more details and an online application with instructions. Deadline is February 15, 2008.
Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholarship Program. 3 are awarded on the basis of merit for four consecutive years of study at an institution of higher education are renewable. Must be a citizen who will graduate in the 2008 school year. Must have a 7 semester unweighted GPA of 3.85 and a 32 composite on the ACT. 300min/500max word essay. See counselor for application. Deadline is February 4, 2008.
Cargill Community Scholarship Program- 350 scholarships for $1,000.00. Students need not be in FFA to be eligible. Students are selected based on academic achievement and leadership in extracurricular and civic activities. The facility nearest to us is: Cargill Meat solutions located at 151 N. Main, Wichita, KS. 3 other locations are listed on handout. Go to www.cargill.com keyword, Scholarship for application and guidelines. The application must have a signature from a Cargill employee. KSU- Acacia Scholarships: Leadership scholarship for $1,000 and 2 for $500.00 for incoming freshmen. See counselor for application. Applications must be postmarked no later than February 1, 2008.
