Graduation Requirements

For Classes of 2008 and 2009

Argonia students need a total of 23 1/2 credits to graduate.

4 English Credits:

    1.  English I

    2.  English II

    3.  English III

    4.  English IV or Honor's English (College Composition I and Composition II)

3 Social Science Credits:

    1.  American History

    2.  1/2 credit Government and 1/2 credit Economics

    3.  American History I or World History

3 Math Credits:

    1.  Algebra I

    2.  Algebra II

    3.  Geometry

    4.  Advanced Math

    5.  Other courses offered:  College Algebra and College Statistics

3 Science Credits- (Must be laboratory classes)

    1.  Biology

    2.  Advanced Biology

    3.  Chemistry

    4. Physics

1 1/2  Technology  Credits

    Computer Applications I (1 credit)*

    Computer Applications II (1/2 credit)

1/2 credit Speech

1 credit Physical Education

1 Fine Arts Credit

    1.  Band

    2.  Vocal

    3.  Drama

    4.  Forensics

    5.  Art I or Art II

6 1/2 credits Electives

*Students who have not taken a computer keyboarding class will be required to take Computer Applications I or to pass a board certified competency exam.

All federal, state, and local guidelines for special education students will be followed.

Students who do not meet the Argonia Board of Education Graduation Requirements and Kansas State Guidelines will not be allowed to participate in the graduation ceremony.
